Today I got contacts! I went to a Vision Works in a mall and after and eye exam, received a 7-day trail pair of contacts. After the 7-day trial, I will go back to Vision Works to have my eyes re-examined for complications, and then have a contact prescription released to me.
The eye exam cost $84.00, and I spent an hour and a half at Vision Works ( 30 minutes filling out paperwork, 10 minutes in the exam, 40 minutes trying to get the contacts in and out of my eyes, and 10 minutes paying and getting my receipt).
My overall experience at Vision Works was negative. Despite the fact that the actual exam was very quick, everyone working their lacked a sense of customer service. The staff was unmotivated, very reluctant to help, and the doctor was snarky.
Thank you YouTubers for uploading contact videos, because that is how I learned how to put in and remove my contacts. Even after being asked the staff didn't help me. Don't go to Vision Works unless you are simply picking up something. I am not looking forward to my re-examination.
